Boudoir Photography Client Raves and Reviews | Florida Boudoir Photographer

We received a sweet email from another happy and excited client right after her boudoir photoshoot experience with us. Thank you Miss H for the kind feedback and I'm sure your words will encourage the other nervous ladies looking to book a shoot to finally just go for it! :)

"Hey Lindsay! Thank you so much! I appreciate everything you and Amanda did for me. I am not going to lie, way back when I first started trying to get a session with you, I researched around but I could not find any place around that had the kind of feedback from customers that you did and or the service.

I was scared heading your way, almost talked myself out of it. I have never done anything like this before and had been wanting to do it for a long time. I still wasn't even sure about the outfits I got, even after standing right there in your studio. After you let me see a couple of the pictures, and this is gonna sound sappy and probably like a baby, lol, I had tears in my eyes heading back home.

I never in my life, ever, thought that I could look that good. Thanks to the amazing make up from Amanda and the awesome job you did on my hair and coaching me through the session, I felt like a super model! I will definitely be back and I will definitely recommend you and Amanda."

What inspired you to do a boudoir photo shoot and why did you choose Bad Girl Boudoir?
I had done a boudoir photo shoot when I lived in Seattle and enjoyed it. This year, I turned 30 and wanted to do something for myself and what better way to do that than to do another boudoir photo shoot. When I found out I was moving to Jacksonville, Florida, I began a search online for boudoir photographers in the area and Bad Girl Boudoir was the first one that caught my eye. I explored the website and I loved all of the photos that were on the site, not to mention the prices were reasonable!

What were your feelings leading up to your session?
Although I had done a boudoir photo shoot before, I was still a little nervous, but more excited than anything.

Tell us about your experience with Bad Girl Boudoir...
From the first time I met with Lindsay up to the day of the shoot, I never felt more comfortable with someone I had just briefly met! Lindsay was super nice and listened intently to what I was envisioning for my shoot and she explained what ideas she was wanting to do for my shoot as well...just pure awesomeness! The day of shoot I met Amanda and let me tell you, both Lindsay and Amanda made me feel like I was one of their good friends. I never laughed so much in all of my life! I just told Amanda "do what you want to do makeup-wise, I'm open to anything". Viola! She did her magic and I loved it! I loved it so much that I didn't want to take my make up off that evening when I went home. Beautiful work, both with photography and make-up!

This was a gift for myself. The last time I did a boudoir shoot it was for my husband. This time, I did it for me. When you become a mom or you just get so busy with life, it's good to do things for yourself every once and a while.

What's your advice for future clients looking to have a boudoir photoshoot?
I always go with that saying by Albert Einstein:

“20 years from now you will be disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Always take time to do something you never thought you would do! I recommend to any woman wanting to feel good about themselves to go ahead and do a boudoir shoot. I used to be modest and didn't think I had a good body to take risque photos of myself. When you get your photos back and see how beautiful you truly are, it's a moment that will last forever! In the end, we women are all beautiful no matter what size, shape or color we are!

"Hello Lindsay, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the tremendous work you did on my Boudoir session. I was very nervous leading up to it and you did an amazing job making me feel at ease. The way you worked with me to get all the shots I wanted was very much appreciated by myself and my husband.

You have an eye for the small details and I will refer others to your business. My makeup and hair were spot on to what I wanted. Your coaching helped me to achieve the perfect look in my photos. Your work is amazing and so are you! Thank You again for the amazing job and fast turn around!"

Boudoir Photoshoot Review from a Bystander's Point of View | Northeast Florida Photography Testimonial

I got this wonderful email tonight from this sweetheart named Brittany. I met Brittany when her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Mrs. K, booked a session with us. Brittany came along with her to her photoshoot to support her and cheer her on. So here's our first testimonial from a bystander's point of view... :)

"Hello Lindsay, my name is Brittany [our client's soon-to-be sister-in-law]. I met you when I came with [Mrs. K] for her boudoir session. I just wanted to praise you for the amazing work you did. Your attention to detail, her vision and the drive to capture just the right shot is amazing.

If you don't remember, I live in Maryland and I went to do a boudoir session when I got back home, and I want to let you know I regret deeply not doing mine with you while in JAX. You made sure to make [Mrs. K] feel special like she was going to have great shots, took the time to go over them with her and made her feel great about herself. You gave her great direction in what to do with her face and captured every shot she desired and even got inventive with new shots.

After my experience I have even contemplated flying back down to Jacksonville to get my photos re-done with you. I know it sounds a little far stretched but its seriously been contemplated lol. So I felt I had to tell you what a great job you did! Keep up the amazing work and I hope I can make it down sooner rather than later and get photos done with you! I will not hesitate to refer people to you!"

-Brittany

Thanks so much to Brittany for the kind words. This kind of feedback means so much to me and its why I continue to love what I do! I am sorry to hear that her boudoir shoot didn't go quite like she had hoped but we look forward to having her here for a shoot with us one day in the future. :)

Classic Hollywood Pin-up Photography | Early Vintage Pinups

Excerpts taken from "Va-Va-Voom! Classic Hollywood Pin-ups" by Chris Chang.

Poised somewhere between portraiture and pornography, the Hollywood pin-up sits pretty. The phrase "pin-up," in most minds, conjures a certain style of ultra-vivid illustration, associated with a certain type of magazine, catering to a specifically male clientele. From an etymological standpoint, however the word has its roots in World War II barracks, where photos of a particularly glamorous breed of woman--usually cut from the pages of publications that trafficked in such things--were pinned to walls or inside lockers.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, "pinup" first appeared as a noun in the pages of Yank magazine, which provided millions of GIs with a weekly dose of Hollywood beauties in provocative poses. Depending on who you ask, pinup can be traced to: 1) The rise of the Hollywood star system; 2) mid-to-late nineteenth-century photographs of female stage performers and 3) the fifteenth century, Mr. Guttenburg, and the birth of print media itself.

"The pin-up has always been about fantasy."
